Upon Seeing

upon seeing a photograph
of my grandfather for
the first time
my wife exclaimed
oh the likeness
and proclaimed as well
	now i know where
	you get the scowl
	those hard features
	the furrowed brow
	your passion for
	walking hard & straight
yet it's
my first time to see him
too
i feel an affinity
of sorts
and linger over the
yellowed picture
    thinking
